Nutanix SRE intern interview experience

Round 1

The interviewer tested my knowledge of computer hardware, Linux, and storage devices. I was grilled on Linux fundamentals, the boot process, systemd vs. init, and filesystem permissions. Coincidentally, I had been conducting numerous “Linux experiments” during that period, which proved beneficial. The interviewer seemed particularly impressed when I discussed the Intel i7-7700k, detailing its cache sizes, base, and turbo clock speeds.

Personal verdict: Strong Hire

Round 2

This round focused on computer networks and Linux. I completely mishandled the computer networks question but excelled in the Linux questions.

Personal verdict: Lean Hire

I was asked how I would approach a technical support question and to solve a few real-life puzzle scenarios.
