F5 Software Engineer I interview experience

I applied directly through the career portal and received a call within two weeks.

Round 1

This round was an unusual one. We had technical discussions about how I would design YouTube video streaming and video compression algorithms like H.264. Coincidentally, I was studying video compression algorithms at the time.

Personal verdict: Hire

Round 2

One problem involved graphs, specifically topological sorting. Another problem focused on dynamic programming (recursion and memoization). I solved both with time remaining on the clock.

Personal verdict: Strong Hire

HR Round

Discussion centered on compensation expectations and general “how is life” type of questions.

Personal verdict: Hire

Culture Fit Round

The discussion focused on my views regarding diversity in tech, etc. It seemed they were looking for any red flags.

Personal verdict: Hire
